I have a small wart on the bottom of one foot, which has been frozen off about 3 times in the past 4 or 5 years. Foot warts can penetrate deeply and be hard to get rid of, apparently. So, I went in to see a dermatologist today, she used a razor blade to cut away the layers of callused dead skin, and then took a needle and shot in about 2 cc's of chemo.
It actually makes a lot of sense. Chemotherapy is designed to target rapidly multiplying cells, which includes both cancer and warts. Evidently, if you inject it into the skin (locally, not systemically), it's destructive. I feel just a little proud that I held my food still while she did it (she was going to use anesthetic, and I said no). It hurt, but I like trying to develop pain tolerance.
Other than that, we went to Pike's Place Market, checked out the new Seattle Public Library (AWESOME, and also chartruse), went to the grossery, and now we're going to dinner. bluemoonshark and shrike30, I INSIST that you come over and play Munchkin with us this week.
And then later we will watch Star Wars on the LCD. I miss being home.
P.S. I will be at the Great Wall of China on Valentine's Day. Everything is awesome.
