I only counted states that I remember being in (not from road trips when I was a baby), and I excluded states in which I've only been in the airport (disqualifying Tennessee, New Jersey, and Minnesota).
EDIT: Fixed. I'd forgotten I'd been to Texas. Stupid Texas.
