OneRing

(no subject)

I got a print of this lovely painting for Christmas. However, when it arrived in the mail, we found a deep scratch in the upper left corner. It's deep enough that you can see color on the reverse of the paper. However, it's not a cut, and you can't really see it from the front.

We complained to art.com about it, and they kindly sent us a replacement without even asking for the damaged print back. I don't need it because I have the replacement, and I plan to frame it one day and wanted it to be undamaged. However, there's hardly anything visibly wrong with the first one. If anybody wants it to hang up, they can have it for free.

I was lying on the floor, watching the dark-eyed juncos and house sparrows gobble down the birdseed we'd left them on the balcony, when a belted kingfisher swooped out of the sky and nabbed one of Doc's goldfish out of the pond...and sat down to finish it on top of a little tree. While she was doing that, a huge male ring-necked pheasant flopped onto the edge of the yard and stalked very slowly and nervously towards the low brush at the other end.

I love our backyard. :)
