It's an odd and powerful feeling to know that you've disproved the findings of someone's thesis.

Or partially disproved, anyway. Strenge (1994) found that Idaho's red alders were all related to the southern clade. His sample sizes were very small (maybe 2 per site) and he didn't catch the individuals from the northern clade).
