There, dangit. I've just spent the better part of my morning finishing my fourth paper for Restoration this week, which amounts to 13 pages worth of typework on dirt. Dirt, do you hear me?!?

Granted, soil is a wonderful thing. And so is nitrogen, and mycorrhizae, and nutrient cycling. But for the rest of the day I will call it dirt, and I will hate it utterly. And then I will be done.
