Curries and County Fairs

I'm pleased to report success in curry-making as of late. I've found that a can of light organic coconut milk, mized with a spoon of green curry paste, a 1/4 cup of hot vegetable stock, some fresh basil, and a touch of brown sugar makes a very nice curry, which is something I could very happily live on if coconut milk weren't so fatty. Drast. I got to use some of the organic produce I got from the organic farm on Saturday morning, when I spent three hours harvesting there. The tomatoes are fabulous (store-bought tomatoes are worthless in comparison), and I discovered the happy fact that I really, really like digging potatoes. It's fun.

Went to the Latah County fair last night, all by myself. >sigh< Saw the cows and pigs and sheep, and the goats, on Cassie's behalf. I also talked to Dirk, my anatomy teacher, and got to see Idaho Gem, the world's first equine clone (my university cloned a mule this summer...and I'm very partial to mules).

I enjoyed the quilt show very much, which exhibited some really smashing pieces (Moscow is one of the quilting capitals of the world). There was also an exhibition hall for assorted vegetables, fruits, flowers, baked goods, paintings, collections, and Lego buildings. As far as I could tell, virtually every single thing had won first place.

Went on the swing ride because it's irresistible (one of my favorite fair rides ever), then bought a sticky caramel apple and walked home.
